OxEd is a University of Oxford spinout dedicated to transforming decades of research in language assessment and intervention into practical tools used in classrooms. Our early‑years oral language assessment and intervention programmes are backed by rigorous evidence and have been shown to improve educational outcomes for children.
We are a growing, mission‑driven startup working with schools, districts and ministries of education across the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Paraguay, and the Middle East. Our strong research foundation has also led to our role as a delivery partner for the Centre for the Advancement of Literacy: research‑led Outcomes and Nationwide change (CAL:ON). CAL:ON Cymru is a national, bilingual literacy initiative led by Bangor University and funded by the Welsh Government until 2028.
We are looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented Welsh‑speaking School Success & Engagement Officer to join our School Success team. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the delivery of OxEd’s contributions to the CAL:ON project and help scale our programmes across Wales. You will lead engagement with schools, coordinate project operations, and ensure smooth, high‑quality delivery. As a key point of contact for participating schools, you will directly contribute to improving literacy outcomes for children across Wales.
This is a full‑time, remote position (UK‑based), fixed term until July 2027. Salary: £30,000–£38,000, depending on experience. We offer 25 days’ annual leave.
For questions about the role, please contact careers@oxedandassessment.com.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage day‑to‑day CAL:ON operations, including scheduling, communications, troubleshooting, and timely follow‑up on enquiries.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with schools through proactive engagement via calls, emails, webinars, and ongoing support.
* Lead school onboarding for CAL:ON pilots, monitor engagement and product usage, and provide regular updates.
* Identify implementation challenges and support schools in resolving them.
* Plan and deliver outreach activities, such as webinars, campaigns, and engagement with Local Authorities to support pilot expansion and national scale‑up.
* Prepare, distribute, and track programme and trial materials to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
* Act as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including Welsh Government, Local Authorities, schools, delivery partners, and freelancers.
* Contribute to strategic planning, project updates, and the delivery of CAL:ON trial and pilot activities.
* Represent OxEd at educational events and conferences, promoting the CAL:ON project and strengthening professional networks.
* Oversee CAL:ON documentation and data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective information management.
* Support the project management of Welsh‑language adaptations to OxEd products.
You might like this role if you:
* Have experience in education or educational programme management (experience with trials or interventions is an advantage).
* Have experience working within the Welsh education system.
* Are an excellent written and oral communicator in Welsh and English.
* Bring strong organisational and leadership abilities, ideally with experience managing projects or teams.
* Are proficient with digital tools for scheduling, data management, and communication.
* Are reflective and improvement‑focused, willing to test new approaches and iterate based on results.
* Are adaptable, comfortable with shifting priorities, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
