Networks and Managed Services Delivery (NMSD) is responsible for the delivery of Network Products & Solutions, Network Roll-Out, Support & Repair, Network Optimization & Managed Services.
The Environment and Health and Safety Standards Specialist role is responsible for applying their experienced knowledge in the fields of Environmental Health and Safety for the region and project(s) they are assigned, to ensure that Ericsson is achieving the highest possible standards on the projects to which the role holder may be aligned from time to time. This means reviewing project requirements and advising on EHS risks, identifying, and influencing strategy for project(s) physically checking of sites in region to confirm, supervise and ensure compliance and the adoption of appropriate EHS controls to handle risks and promote a strong safety culture across all stakeholders and sites in region.
Role holders will be required to make fact-based decisions and implement speedily to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels to develop a positive safety culture including robust incident and accident knowledge and reporting.
Role holder will develop and maintain in depth knowledge of Ericsson MELA & Global environmental health, safety and sustainability objectives in order to identify and influence the adoption of local practices and procedures that chip in to their delivery while meeting all contractual obligations.
The role holder is expected to utilise their excellent communication skills to tailor the delivery of EHS using insight derived from data, company, and industry knowledge to ensure that messages are delivered in a credible and compelling manner resulting in action. To do this it will be vital to establish and maintain credible working relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

What you will do
The detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Promote Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) to stakeholders driving EHS strategy, fostering and Promoting Safety Culture, coaching, enabling, promoting and encouraging safe working practices and behaviours promoting Target Zero Culture.
2. Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures, Ericsson Ways of working, setting implementation strategies, planning and reviewing E/// EHS standards to ensure robust, compliant and industry leading, supporting their implementation in the UK & Ireland.
3. Reviewing Market Area Europe, Latin America (MELA) EHS standards including training and competence requirements for staff and persons working on our behalf.
4. Manage Ericsson internal and External audit regime, developing and establishing audit plans, monitoring performance and completing Key EHS Management / compliance.
5. Carry out ISO: 14001/ 45001/ standard & suppler on-boarding audits
6. Support and carry out Legal compliance reviews, supporting legal updates and updating of core policies and procedures.
7. Support validation of significant business changes the effect E// EHS standards.
8. Provide advice and guidance to a range internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to UK EHS Team, NMSD Project Teams & NRO Managers, ASP, individual colleagues, and contractors.
9. Promote and encourage all internal and external personnel to report incidents, near misses hazards and safety suggestions.
10. Support Accident and Incident Investigation and complete a Root Cause Analysis report into any high-risk internal incident / accident investigation within their area of responsibility in liaison with the Head of EHS UK&I and any specialist support that may be required, and provide, supervise and implement recommendations.
11. Proactively act to identify innovative solutions and improvements to mitigate risk or achieve Environmental sustainability ambitions and promote EHS improvements and initiatives generally.
12. Provide internal training / toolbox talks on EHS relevant topics and lessons learned, updates or new and emerging risks relevant to the business.
13. Regular reporting to Management Team on EHS Standards and achievements including any agreed Improvement Plans
14. Provide monthly updates to the Head of EHS UK&I concerning EHS Standards for NMSD, including those relevant to the annual MELA KPI’s.
15. Any other duties to support EHS management with project / region as determined by senior management.
You will bring
Required
16. University degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health and Safety field
17. Graduate member or above of IOSH.
18. Knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM 2015) Regulations
19. EHS Internal / External Audit experience (ISO:14001/45001)
20. Fluency in English
21. Ability to maintain relationships at all levels across all stakeholders i.e. Ericsson, Customers, Suppliers, Industry bodies and regulators.
22. Ability to effectively assess EHS needs of customer engagements and translation of those into actions for the business applying the MELA Environmental and EHS Management Systems)
23. Extensive experience in working in high-risk environments, including working at height.
24. Extensive experience working with contractors and suppliers.
25. Awareness of hazards involved in construction such as Asbestos Awareness
26. Excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills
27. Demonstrable leadership capability in leading and motivating change in a large, complex organization.
28. Ability to influence and inspire action in a matrix organisation.
Desirable
29. Environmental Qualification such as IEMA General Certificate
30. Mental Health First Aid &/or First Aid/Emergency First Aid
31. Telecoms industry awareness including Radio Frequency awareness.
32. Local Market Knowledge
33. Graduate member or above of IOSH.
