We are looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the successful delivery of construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career (1+ year post-graduation) who is keen to develop professionally while making a real impact on site and in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare applications for payment, valuations, and cost value reconciliations
Cost control and forecasting across live projects
Assist in monthly reporting including value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow
Manage and liaise with the supply chain to ensure performance and compliance
Contribute to risk and value management, offering commercial insight
Support contract management across various forms (e.g. NEC, JCT)
Issue subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms, and prepare contracts
Ensure contractual documentation and notifications are kept accurate and up to date
Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
Highlight safety risks where appropriate and ensure processes align with HSE standards
Provide commercial and contractual advice to the wider project team
Person Specification:
Essential:
HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Minimum 1 year of post-graduation experience in a QS or commercial role
Familiarity with construction contracts and budgetary control methods
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
Desirable:
Working towards RICS or ICES accreditation
Experience with contract forms such as NEC or JCT
Exposure to risk and value management practices
