Responsibilities
* Taking responsibility for the well-being of residents and ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met
* Coaching and guiding the team, providing formal and informal teaching programmes for colleagues and other care professionals
* Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans for each resident
* Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure safety and compliance with relevant standards, policies and legislation
Key Skills / Qualifications
* As a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin, manage the unit alongside clinical duties, including oversight of care, administering and ordering medication, reviewing and evaluating care plans, and providing clinical guidance to the care team
* Experience ensuring policies and standards are maintained at a high clinical standard
* Ability to offer clinical guidance for care teams and support CQC tasks
* Strong communication and relationship-building with residents and their families
* Effective handover of clinical issues to team members and health care professionals
* Night shift capability where required, with strong critical thinking, self-reliance and ability to manage care staff in emergencies
