Location: BALPA, One Heathrow Boulevard, 286 Bath Road, West Drayton (Hybrid)

BALPA pay band 2 (Current starting salary £82,000 rising to £92,540).
Permanent contract.
Full time (35 hours per week).
Hybrid working policy applies to this role which allows working from home up to 3 days per week.
Reports to the General Secretary.

This is your chance to join BALPA, the trade union and professional association UK pilots and helicopter crews, as our new Director for Communications.
This is a brand new role, leading a newly expanded team of four Communications Officers. We’re looking for a leader who has excellent communications skills and knowledge; can develop our communications strategy; and can inspire, mentor and lead a team to deliver that strategy.
We’re at a pivotal point in our journey – with a new General Secretary, a new President, and a renewed focus on putting members at the heart of all we do. You’ll join a small, dedicated team working alongside a thriving network of pilot reps, helping to shape the future of the profession.

Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience of driving strategy with proven successes.
Knowledge of UK employment, equality and trade union legislation.
Experience of organisational development and reform with proven success.
Knowledge of the trade union movement and/or aviation industry.
