Lecturer – Construction Department (Leicester College)
Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our Construction Department for a new or experienced highly motivated Lecturer. Applicants are invited from an On‑Site Construction (OSC) Carpentry, Joinery & Manufacturing background specialising in Site Carpentry.
The successful applicant will teach across a range of full‑time and part‑time programmes to students typically studying from Level 1 to Level 3, including Construction T‑Level core based on prior industrial/teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver theoretical and practical knowledge, developing and implementing improvements to support learning.
* Managing and conducting assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines.
* Ensuring student progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and that retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved.
Essential Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above).
* Level 3 relevant OSC Carpentry, Joinery & Manufacturing qualification or equivalent.
* A full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, or willingness to work towards obtaining one (college will support).
Desirable
* Previous experience of working in a training environment or with young people.
* Demonstrated IT skills, including working remotely to provide distance learning and support to student cohorts.
* A broad‑based knowledge of the wider Construction sector.
