Offer description

Ref: #998478

Who are we?

Landpower and the CLAAS Harvest Centre network is the largest privately‑owned farm machinery distribution network in Australasia. We sell and service machinery to farmers and their contractors from our locations throughout New Zealand and Australia.

Our Christchurch, Melbourne and Perth offices co‑ordinate wholesale activities and provide support functions. As a family‑owned business we recognise the importance and value of the long‑term relationships that we have grown over the last 45 years with our international partners.

What’s the job?

This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of transforming data and information into a solid Business Intelligence platform, thereby enhancing the company’s financial position and growth trajectory. Reporting to the Business Performance and Analysis Manager, the BI Developer will work to shape a culture of reporting excellence within the Group.

Working closely with our Group and Regional Managers, this role will provide quality reporting and analytics to support profitability and growth.

This will be a varied role that includes a range of work, from streamlining available reporting and analytical tools to ensuring BI adheres to governance. If you are ready to make a significant impact and take ownership of a crucial function within a dynamic and supportive team environment, this is the role for you.

Key deliverables of the role will include:

* Play a key role in Landpower’s reporting and data analytics transformation.
* Design, build, and optimise interactive Power BI dashboards and governed Data Products that deliver clear, actionable insights.
* Uphold and develop BI governance, ensuring security, consistency, and data quality across all reports and datasets.
* Collaborate with the Data & Insights team and business stakeholders to define requirements and standardise key metrics and KPIs.
* Help drive Power BI adoption across the business through training, support, and analytical storytelling.
* Contribute to continuous improvement — enhancing the Power BI reporting stack post‑implementation and supporting automation and advanced analytics initiatives.
* Use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to validate and transform data for reporting and analysis.
* Actively contributing to Group objectives; supporting colleagues as required to achieve goals; and
* Positively contributing to the Landpower Health & Safety culture.

Who are you?

* You’re a hands‑on Power BI Developer who loves turning data into insights. You bring strong technical skills in Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), along with the curiosity to understand how the business works and what really drives performance.
* You’re equally comfortable deep in technical development as you are talking to a stakeholder about what they need from a dashboard. You take pride in clean, reliable, and governed reporting, and you’re always looking for ways to automate, simplify, and improve how data is used.
* You’ll thrive in a collaborative team environment, working alongside the other Data & Insights specialists, contributing ideas, and helping shape the future of Landpower’s reporting landscape.
* You have excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external customers and suppliers.
* You are effective at building strong collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.

We are looking for people who share our values!

In It Together, Front Up, and Keep Growing form the backbone of what is a dynamic business, providing a challenging and stimulating environment. Family is key to us – We’re a family‑owned business, we employ people with families to care for, and our purpose is to provide resources and support to families in the farming community to enable their success as they feed our world.
