Key Accountabilities
In line with the apprenticeship programme:
* Successfully complete the apprenticeship including gaining AAT qualifications.
* Assist with carrying out a range of finance task, such as:
o producing regular reports from the University’s financial system;
o preparing monthly / quarterly management accounts;
o preparing and consolidating the annual budget and five year plans;
o assisting with the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts;
o conducting ledger and bank account reconciliations;
o entering accounting adjustments;
o undertaking student billing and credit control activities;
o testing systems and validating master data;
o administering purchase order creation;
o processing accounts payable;
o handling insurance claims;
o undertaking VAT transactional activity.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and apprenticeship mentor.
* Interact effectively with students, customers, suppliers and staff of the University.
* Undertake any other appropriate duties as required.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to demonstrate good problem solving skills
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
* Excellent IT skills with a good knowledge of Excel
* Able to pay close attention to detail and complete actvities on time

* Takes responsibility for own learning and development
* Eager to undertake professional study and work towards an apprenticeship qualification
* Able to work well independently and as part of a team
* Flexible and adaptable
* Able to organise self and workload effectively and be willing to seek help when required
Qualifications
* A minimum of grade B GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
