Role Overview
15 hours per week. This role is office-based, with the option for some agile or remote working.
This is a 3‑year fixed‑term position for an experienced Secretariat Support Officer to manage the Ryde Neighbourhood Board’s regular formal meetings. The role requires significant direct experience providing administrative support to formal board and committee meetings.
The Secretariat Support Officer will be part of a small, new team dedicated to the bedding‑in and delivery of Ryde Neighbourhood Board’s 10‑year Vision for the town. You will work directly with the Board and be supervised by the Isle of Wight Council’s Regeneration team.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Board Chair as well as the Chairs of the Finance Committee and Communication and Public Engagement Committee to ensure the smooth delivery of business in accordance with the Government Pride in Place programme guidelines.
Provide a high level of independence, diplomacy, innovative thinking and problem‑solving, and demonstrate exceptional organisational and methodical skills.

Ryde has been selected to benefit from a grant of £19.5 million as part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, to be received over the ten‑year period 2026‑2036.
The Board is an independent, non‑constituted body guiding the investment of this funding and shaping a stronger, healthier, more confident Ryde.
