Coordination & Planning
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate street works activities to ensure timely delivery and minimal disruption.
* Liaise with local highway authorities, utility companies, contractors, and internal teams.
* Submit and manage permit applications, notices, and variations via relevant portals.
* Coordinate traffic management requirements and ensure appropriate approvals are in place.
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure all works comply with NRSWA, Traffic Management Act (TMA), and associated codes of practice.
* Monitor works to ensure compliance with permits, conditions, and safety requirements.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and inspections.
* Respond to defects, overruns, and non-compliance issues promptly.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the main point of contact for street works-related queries.
* Communicate planned works and changes to stakeholders, including residents and businesses where required.
* Attend coordination meetings with highway authorities and other promoters.
Monitoring & Reporting
* Track performance against KPIs such as permit compliance, overruns, and reinstatement quality.
* Produce reports on street works activity, performance, and compliance.
* Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Health, Safety & Environment
* Promote and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Escalate safety concerns and support incident investigations where required.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, and street works legislation
* Excellent organisational and coordination skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Proficient in MS Office and street works systems (e.g. Street Manager)
Qualifications & Experience
* NRSWA accreditation (Supervisor/Operative units relevant to role)
* Experience in street works coordination, highways, or utilities (desirable)
* Knowledge of permit schemes and traffic management principles
* Full UK driving licence desirable (if role requires site visits)
* Previous experience within the utilities section would be an additional advantage.
