Overview
We are looking for a highly organised and strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team, and oversee our procurement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a good commercial mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and analyse purchasing data, inventory levels, and market trends to forecast future needs
* Manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation in compliance with company policies
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment and efficiency in purchasing operations
* Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives
* Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing, terms, and quality
* Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuous supply and resolve any issues regarding quality, delivery, or cost
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement and report on cost savings and supplier performance
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk mitigation
About you
* Proficient in using a stock control system and good understanding of e-commerce operational processes
* Good understanding of the Angling industry is preferred, but not essential
* Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills with a good commercial mindset
* Excellent knowledge of procurement software, ERP systems, and Google Suite
* Understanding of supply chain management, contract law, and vendor management
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
* Highly organised with the ability to multitask effectively
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Location
You will be based at our HeadQuarters in Chesterfield, S43. Hybrid working would be considered.
