The finance team, within the Business Services Directorate, offers the company with essential financial information, support, and expertise.
About the role
The Finance Officer provides financial support to the Finance Team, focusing on services funded by the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG). The role also involves supporting management accountants in other areas, including Children’s Social Care. Within Schools Finance, responsibilities include assisting colleagues in calculating and distributing funding to schools, including money for Individual Schools Budgets and High Needs funding.
* Supporting colleagues in maintaining mechanisms for calculating and distributing funding to schools
* Providing support to schools on all aspects of financial management, including training, advice, and guidance
* Preparing the weekly payment run for social care
* Processing and reconciling invoices
About you
Experience in finance or schools finance administration is desirable; however, applications from candidates with other administrative experience are encouraged. Skills and experience should include, but are not limited to:
* Experience working within a busy finance team and managing a diverse workload of regular, monthly, and annual tasks
* Experience maintaining effective partnership working arrangements with key partners and stakeholders, including schools
* Proficiency in using ICT and digital solutions, such as Microsoft or Google software, to support work effectively
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
