Job Description
3. Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, with significant focus on the agricultural sector
4. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality accounting services tailored to client-specific needs
5. Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive service
6. Supervise daily operations of the accounts department
7. Mentor, develop and guide team members, with particular focus on trainee development
8. Collaborate with partners and other departments to ensure smooth workflow
9. Contribute to departmental strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
10. Deliver comprehensive accounts preparation and financial reporting
11. Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance for diverse client base
12. Apply specialised knowledge of agricultural accounting practices when needed
13. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting clients
14. Lead client meetings and consultations
15. Identify additional service opportunities and areas for client growth
16. Provide ad-hoc financial advice and solutions to client queries
17. Translate complex financial information into actionable insights for clients
18. Stay current with accounting standards and tax regulations
19. Contribute to knowledge sharing within the firm
20. Participate in relevant training and continuous professional development
21. Help establish and maintain best practices within the department
The Successful Applicant
22. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
23. Substantial experience in accounting practice, particularly with agricultural clients
24. Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations
25. Experience with accounts preparation, tax compliance, and financial reporting
26. Familiarity with agricultural accounting and industry-specific requirements
27. Proficiency with accounting software and digital tools
28. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop team members
29. Experience in workflow planning and department coordination
30. Excellent delegation and project management skills
31. Exceptional client relationship management abilities
32. Confident in leading client meetings and delivering presentations
33. Proactive problem-solver who can identify opportunities beyond compliance work
34. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients
