About the Job:
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and motivatedHealthcare Assistant (HCA)to join our busyGP surgery. The ideal candidate will bequalified in phlebotomy, experienced inwound care, and ideally have prior experience working in aprimary care or general practicesetting. You will support the clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients by carrying out a range of clinical tasks and health checks.

Main duties of the job
* Phlebotomy:Perform blood tests and sample collection.
* Wound Care:Confident with dressings and management of minor wounds.
* Health Checks:Support in patient health screenings and routine checks (e.g., blood pressure, ECG).
* Chronic Disease Support:Assist with monitoring patients with long-term conditions.
* Vaccinations:Administer immunisations as required.
* Patient Care:Provide general assistance in the care of patients, ensuring comfort and wellbeing.
* Clinical Support:Assist nurses and GPs during consultations and minor procedures.
* System Management:Document patient information accurately using theSystemOnesoftware.

Seven Dials Medical Centre proudly serves just over 7,000 patients in Brighton and Hove and has 14 members of staff including 3 GP Partners, an ACP, Practice Nurse and HCA. We work closely with the PCN to offer patients access to Social Prescribers, Mental Health Co-ordinators, Care Co-ordinators and a Pharmacy team.
We work hard to deliver the best levels of care to our patients and pride ourselves on a ‘Family GP’ feel. Many of our patients have been with the surgery for decades and we regularly receive positive feedback from patients both long standing and newly registered.

Job responsibilities
As an HCA, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality healthcare services to our patients. You will be responsible for a range of clinical and administrative duties, all of which will help ensure that our patients receive the best possible care in afriendly, patient-centredenvironment.
* PhlebotomyPerform blood tests and sample collection with care and attention to patient comfort.
* Wound CareAssist with the dressing and management of minor wounds and injuries.
* Health ChecksSupport the nursing team in conducting routine health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, height, weight, etc.).
* Chronic Disease MonitoringAssist with the ongoing care and monitoring of patients with long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
* Vaccinations & ImmunisationsAdminister vaccines as required (flu, travel vaccines, childhood immunisations).
* ECGs and Ear SyringingAssist in the administration of ECGs and ear syringing as needed (training can be provided).
* Clinical SupportAssist GPs and nurses with minor procedures and patient consultations.
* SystemOneAccurately document patient information and treatment notes usingSystemOnesoftware.
* General Patient CareProvide general support to patients, ensuring their comfort, answering queries, and making them feel at ease.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Previous experience as an HCA or similar.
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* We are unable to provide sponsorship so it is important you already have the right to work in the UK
Experience

* Experience with wounds and dressings
* Experience with administering Immunizations

* Experience working within a GP setting
