Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire (Hybrid Working)

Contract Type: 6-Month Temporary Contract
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £23 per hour (via Umbrella Company) (£18 PAYE an hour)
About the Role A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Gloucestershire County Council’s Youth Support Team (YST). We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed individual to join our Missing Team as a Case Responsible Officer. This is a rewarding role supporting some of the most vulnerable children across the county.
You will be responsible for offering professional advice, guidance, and support to social care colleagues and multi-agency professionals involved in safeguarding children reported as missing. Your focus will be on reducing risks and preventing further missing episodes by taking a trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Support social care colleagues working with children reported as missing.
* Liaise with partnership agencies and coordinate support for children.
* Provide specialist advice to professionals and networks working with missing children.
* Foster strong, trusting relationships with children and professionals.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to reduce missing incidents.
About You You’ll need to be a dynamic and empathetic individual with excellent communication and engagement skills, especially when working directly with children. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes complex environment, bringing resilience, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit to your work.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience working with children, including those in care or supported by professionals.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and the Children’s Act 1989.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
* Sound IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
* Adaptability to work flexibly across locations and work patterns.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a changing workload.
