We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients dedicated and growing Engineering Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Engineer or recent graduate to take the next step in their career and grow into a role where they will be responsible for the full design and detailing of bespoke machinery and tooling systems.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will play an integral role in the design and development of highly specialised equipment from concept to completion. This includes producing detailed component drawings, assembly models, and bills of materials using advanced 3D CAD software.

A competitive salary between £26,000 and £28,000 depending on experience is offered alongside a 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:15 PM) allowing flexibility for those travelling from outside the area (option for 4.5-day week)
Your main responsibilities shall include but won't be limited to:-

Produce high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for machined and fabricated components.

Generate accurate assembly drawings complete with Bills of Materials (BoMs).

Assist in the mechanical design of bespoke machines, tooling systems, and custom equipment.

Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and functionality.
*
Develop an understanding of our in-house design processes, contributing ideas and improvements over time.

Maintain and follow all internal engineering and design standards.
The successful candidate will:-

Have a relevant engineering qualification or degree (HND/HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field).

Experience using a 3D design software package — ideally Creo 10 (Pro Engineer), though SolidWorks or similar experience will also be considered.

Basic understanding of manufacturing methods, machining, and fabrication processes.

Eagerness to learn, problem-solve, and take initiative within a fast-paced environment.
*
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
*
Willingness to relocate to the Grantham, Lincolnshire area if not already local.
