Overview

Head of Nursing-Site Operations role at Make It Count Marketing. Senior nursing leadership and operational oversight of clinical flow across the Trust's hospital sites. Lead and support the Clinical Site Managers, Senior Clinical Flow, and Non-Clinical Flow teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient movement. Aligns with local and national targets.


Responsibilities

* Provide tactical operational cover during core weekday hours in collaboration with the Professional Lead for Quality and Operations.
* Ensure patient flow is optimised and escalations are managed effectively.
* Lead the Trust's Urgent and Emergency Care programme efforts; contribute to KPIs including ambulance handover times and 4-hour/12-hour ED targets.
* Resolve operational issues, implement Trust policies, and support staff across all departments.
* Lead and coordinate first-line emergency response activities (fire, major incidents, security alerts, serious untoward incidents); liaise with on-call management and EPRR teams.
* Monitor OPEL triggers and enact operational responses; ensure accurate bed state reporting.
* Represent the Trust at system, regional, and national levels; participate in Corporate, Care Group and Business Unit meetings as required.
* Embed systems to deliver high standards of safe care; manage performance against local and national KPIs.
* Support and promote multi-disciplinary working to facilitate patient pathways and timely transitions through care locations.
* Ensure compliance with confidentiality and information governance; maintain high standards of professional behaviour and clinical skills.
* Develop and maintain a robust approach to mandatory training and staff development; support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Utilise Trust electronic systems and BI dashboards to analyse data and inform decisions.


Personal/Professional Development

* Maintain professional registration (NMC/HCPC) and qualifications; aim for or hold a master's degree in a relevant field.
* Engage in personal development planning and appraisal processes; demonstrate advanced leadership and management knowledge (financial, HR, activity management).
* Minimum of 2 years in a recent senior nursing role in an acute setting.


Qualifications and Experience

* Essential: NMC/HCPC registration; degree-level qualification; evidence of master's level study.
* Desirable: Advanced Life Support; Leadership/Management or teaching qualification.
* Experience of managing a diverse team; autonomous working; data interpretation and analysis; experience with site and operations teams; quality improvement project delivery (desirable).

* UK registration required; DBS check as part of recruitment; right to work in the UK per visa sponsorship where applicable.
* Employment type: Full-time; Band 8b; Location: University Hospitals of North Midlands (Stoke-on-Trent).
