Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a customer‑focused homelessness prevention service, providing effective solutions to residents at risk of homelessness.
* Assess and manage the Council’s statutory duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act Parts VI & VII, Localism Act 2011, Code of Guidance and relevant case law.
* Offer clear advice on housing options, the Allocations Policy, tenancy law, and welfare benefits.
* Manage a varied caseload, ensuring all possible prevention pathways are fully explored.
* Respond promptly to written and verbal housing enquiries from residents, partner agencies and internal teams.
* Develop and maintain Personal Housing Plans in line with statutory requirements.
* Conduct home visits, investigate housing applications, attend case conferences, and represent the service at MARAC and Domestic Abuse meetings.
Requirements
* Experience in homelessness or housing advice casework.
* Strong knowledge of housing legislation, landlord/tenant law, and welfare benefits.
* Flexible approach, with the ability to work outside normal hours when required.
* A customer‑focused approach and excellent communication skills.
* Basic DBS (required)
