Job Overview
We are looking for a criminal solicitor to support our Criminal Team, in sharing our large volume of own client case work. Therefore, whilst an individual who has the ability to obtain duty slots in their own right would be advantageous, this is not a requirement of the role. LAA supervisor status is a requirement of the role, and as such we will support you to in obtain the status if you do not yet have it.
The role may be attractive to a newly qualified solicitor with experience of working in criminal law, who is looking for a Firm to support them in attaining duty solicitor status, or a duty solicitor seeking to work for a new and supportive firm.
Out of hours work is available, and paid accordingly, but candidates would not be obliged to take this up.
The role will require you to be:
* Experienced in working in criminal defence
* Proactive
* Able to deliver excellent client care
* Computer/IT literate
* Able to man out of hours phones on a rota'd basis to be agreed
Start date: immediately (or as soon as possible)
Contract: both fixed term and permanent contracts will be considered
Salary: market rate
Holiday: 25 days (plus bank holidays), rising to 26 days after one year, and at regular intervals thereafter, up to 30 days.
