Employment Solicitor
3–5+ Years’ PQE | Full-Time | Permanent
A well-established and progressive private practice law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its growing Employment team, based in the Telford area .
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated employment law professional to take on a varied and engaging role, combining Employment Tribunal litigation with advisory work for employer clients across a range of sectors.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a mixed caseload, including a strong focus on Employment Tribunal matters, primarily acting for respondents. Litigation work will account for approximately 25–30% of the role.
Alongside contentious work, you will provide ongoing employment law and HR advice to a portfolio of retained business clients as part of a nationwide employment and HR support service. Clients typically include organisations within the education, healthcare, and professional services sectors .
The advisory element of the role is commercial and solution-focused, involving:
* Day-to-day employment and HR guidance
* Drafting tailored employment documentation
* Attendance at client sites, including supporting and co-chairing employee hearings
* Delivery of HR and employment law training to managers
You can expect to be responsible for around 20–25 retained employer clients .
About You
* Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3–5+ years’ PQE in employment law
* Demonstrable experience running a diverse Employment Tribunal caseload
* Strong background advising employers on employment and HR issues
* Commercial, pragmatic approach with a client-focused mindset
* Excellent organisation, drafting, and IT skills
* Comfortable managing deadlines and working under pressure
Experience advising professional-sector employers or delivering HR/employment training would be advantageous but is not essential .
As the role involves regular client visits, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.
