An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiasticpharmacist with excellent clinical, teaching and time management skills towork in a post with 50% of time spent working at the Leeds University and 50%of time at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Duringthe time spent at the Leeds Trust the post holder will work within the adultspecialities based at the Leeds General Infirmary.
Inthe university role the post holder will work within the Pharmacy team(School of Healthcare and Faculty of Medicine and Health) supporting thedelivery of the Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice andmulti-disciplinary independent prescribing course. They will be involved inthe delivery and assessment of these programmes as well as teaching andsupervision of pharmacy related subjects to a range of undergraduate andpostgraduate healthcare professionals.
Thisis an exciting time to work in education and development with the ongoing andfuture changes to pharmacist education. The successful candidate will alreadyhave experience teaching pharmacy or clinical colleagues and be keen tofurther develop their skills.
Main duties of the job
Asa Pharmacist Lecturer (Leeds university) your main duties will be to:
Provide innovative research-ledteaching and assessment, using technology where appropriate.
Contribute to the planning,development, delivery and review of modules and programmes.
Provide support and academicsupervision to students, referring when appropriate
Asa Pharmacist Practitioner (Leeds Trust) your main duties will be to;
Provide highly specialised clinicalpharmacy service to patients and the multidisciplinary team within a givenspeciality.
Within clinical and operationalspeciality ensure medicines are used appropriately, safely, andcost-effectively in accordance with Trust Policy, standard operatingprocedures and medicines legislation.
Supervise, tutor and assess juniorpharmacy staff.
Provide a service commitment aspart of job plan to a specified area within the pharmacy department i.edispensary, aseptics, or medicines information.
Thepost is offered on a full-time basis and the post holder will be required towork evening and weekends at the Leeds Trust.

Toprovide operational and strategic input into the education, training andprofessional development of pharmacists. The post holder will also provide aclinical pharmacy service to a clinical speciality.

Knowledge,skills and experience required
Masters qualification in Pharmacy(4 years), or equivalent qualification, plus 1 year pre-registrationtraining.
Registrant of the GeneralPharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Postgraduate Diploma in ClinicalPharmacy or equivalent experience or qualification
Substantial post registrationexperience as a practising clinical pharmacist. Ability to demonstratefoundation level competencies in all 6 domains of the Advanced to ConsultantLevel Framework (ACLF)
Minimum of two years experience ofmentoring, assessing and appraising postgraduate students or trainee pharmacystudents.
Have undertaken training ineducational theory (e.g. MEd. PGCE, Train the Trainer)
Experience of dealing with complexclinical issues which require the pharmacist to analyse a range of sources,which may not be in agreement, to formulate a response. It may be necessaryto find a novel solution to an unusual clinical situation.
Possess negotiating and persuasiveskills for interacting with other clinical team members, hospital managers,patients and relatives
Experience of dealing with a widevariety and grade of hospital staff on a regular and on-going basis,including senior multidisciplinary and managerial staff.
