Newly Qualified Operating Department Practitioner – Anaesthetic Team (Main Theatres).
About the role
Working within an anaesthetic team in Main Theatres, supporting perioperative patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across a range of surgical specialties, including advanced laparoscopic surgery. The role includes assistance in CT, MRI, Emergency Department transfers, and participation in the resuscitation team.
Key responsibilities
* Provide skilled assistance in anaesthesia for main theatre procedures.
* Assist in CT, MRI, ED, and inter‑unit transfers.
* Participate in a 24‑hour rota system, including weekends and public holidays.
* Rotate through allocated specialities following a rotational plan.
* Participate in pre‑operative and post‑operative care of vulnerable adults and children, with Enhanced DBS check required.
Qualifications
* Registered ODP, or Registered Nurse with an approved UK anaesthetic qualification, or student ODP nearing qualification.
* Commitment to participate in in‑house induction and preceptorship; should be willing to engage in training and professional development.

Additional notes
Position involves working in a supportive and challenging environment, rotating across nine theatres and a recovery unit, including dedicated obstetric theatre. The role will support the perioperative team for 24‑hour care.
