This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with records and systems, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. About the role In this hands-on operational role, you will play a key part in supporting Council’s information and recordkeeping functions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure Council information is captured, maintained and accessible in line with legislative and organisational requirements. Here’s what you’ll be up to Scanning, capturing, data entry and classification of Council information Managing physical and electronic records in accordance with recordkeeping standards Responding to enquiries and providing information to internal users Supporting end users with the effective and efficient use of Council’s Information Management systems Contributing to team collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives What are we looking for? (Essential criteria) We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and takes pride in their work. You will bring: A qualification in Recordkeeping, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Demonstrated experience using Information Management systems Knowledge of physical and electronic recordkeeping functions and practices Strong data entry skills, including experience using scanning technology and equipment Understanding of recordkeeping compliance and responsibilities for Public Offices under the State Records Act 1998 Knowledge of information retention and disposal requirements Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment Who we are (And why you’ll love us) At Penrith City Council, we value diversity and inclusion and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported and able to contribute.
