Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a proven Platform Engineering Team Lead with a strong track record in a similar role. We need strong skills in providing Middleware, Database, and Platform support services in complex, business-critical IT environments. We need the ability to drive, demonstrate, and communicate strategic-level proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. We require knowledge and experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques, such as Jenkins. We require experience with software application containerisation methods. We need a high-level understanding of web-tier technologies. Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure, including Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, would be advantageous. Knowledge of Oracle technologies and Microsoft SQL Server would be advantageous. Responsibilities: We lead and develop a team that supports our E-Commerce, Middleware, payment, and back-office systems. We balance BAU run support with delivery support for projects that help drive YBS growth. We manage a high-performing team of multi-skilled engineers and carry out regular reviews and ongoing development. We ensure team members have opportunities to grow their personal and technical skills. We liaise with other IT teams and provide 2nd and 3rd line support on a 24 x 365 on-call basis. We support the associated technology stack across non-production, business-critical Production, and Disaster Recovery environments. We comply with agreed processes and oversee delivery of all team-owned project and roadmap initiatives. We manage team time and allocate resources effectively between operational support and project work. We provide infrastructure consultancy to assure the architecture, design, and delivery of supported platform technologies and the infrastructure they run on. We maintain and initiate relationships with third-party vendors to ensure technical proficiency for team-owned products. We validate the implementation of automated build, deployment, and monitoring procedures to enable rapid and repeatable environment delivery.
