An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Analyst to join our Threat and Performance Department in the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
The role will be within our Tackling Organised Exploitation (TOEX) Team. TOEX is an extremely rewarding team to be part of, with the vision to enable a whole systems approach to improving the UK Law Enforcement response to the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. The department provides intelligence support across Force, SEROCU, and partners, developing insights that piece together a comprehensive picture to inform decision-making at all levels. The exploitation landscape is complex and requires sophisticated solutions, which TOEX delivers.
TOEX works on various forms of exploitation, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Please note that this role will occasionally involve exposure to CSAM.
The main purpose of the role is to provide high-level analytical support to senior police officers to aid in crime prevention, targeting, disruption, detection, and safeguarding vulnerable individuals. You will use analytical techniques to produce intelligence products that support strategic and tactical planning, aligned with the National Intelligence Model.
You will collaborate with customers to develop clear terms of reference and deliver effective support for decision-making. You will also work alongside the TOEX Data Insights Analyst to exploit analytical and research tools, develop operational products, briefings, test hypotheses, and make recommendations. Additionally, you will contribute to developing innovative technology within the national TOEX network to adapt to evolving crime complexities.
To succeed, you must map the full intelligence picture clearly and concisely to enable investigative teams to allocate resources effectively, ultimately disrupting crime and safeguarding the vulnerable. A strong analytical mindset and keen attention to detail are essential.
Requirements include advanced IT skills (notably Excel), proven research ability, problem-solving skills, and experience in producing analytical reports using communication data. Candidates should be confident working independently, efficiently, and under pressure to meet operational demands.
Previous experience in intelligence is desirable but not essential. Training will include a solid grounding in UK policing systems, tools, and the IPP (Intelligence Professionalisation Programme) accreditation, which must be completed if not already obtained.
This role is hybrid, with a minimum of two days in the office. Flexibility regarding working hours and occasional travel may be required, so a full UK driving license is essential.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, security vetting at SC level and other security checks are mandatory. Applicants must have resided in the UK for the past five years, with some exemptions possible.
For more information about security vetting, please see the provided link.
