The Warwickshire Road Safety Unit continues to make a positive impact on road safety, ensuring drivers adhere to speed limits and change their behaviour.
This is an exciting opportunity to for someone with the required skills and experience to play a crucial role in the operational administration of the Road Safety Unit, an innovative department supporting safer use of the roads in Warwickshire.
We are looking for someone with experience in Casework, with a particular eye for detail and accuracy, who is motivated, dilligent, inivative, adaptable to change, who is also able to empower and support staff, explore and implement new effective and efficient ways of working.
Applicants must be able to set out their own evidence of the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of the Senior Caseworker job profile, and previous Casework experience.
Job Purpose:
To provide clerical and administrative support to the Supervisors and Manager with the WRSU, to undertake more complex duties, facilitate and coordinate all aspects of work, necessary to progress camera offences.
Main Responsibilities:
* Capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the caseworker role.
* Provide clerical and admin support for the Supervisors/Manager, facilitating and coordinating all aspects of work within the WRSU, to ensure the effective utilisation of staff and other resources as required.
* Resolve more complex issues and enquiries, to determine and initiate action on all Offence procedures and enquiries, covering all team areas.
* Read and respond to complex correspondence of mitigation, to determine withdrawal or enforcement in line with operational policy and guidance. In addition be responsible for highlighting cases for discretionary withdrawal to the supervisor where necessary.
* Deal with more complex requests for information received in writing or telephone from a range of sources, including Notice recipients, Offenders, third parties, Solicitors, Courts and other business stakeholders. Supply information in accordance with protocols, legal requirements maintaining security and within required deadlines.
* Mentor and develop new and existing members of staff in relation to processing procedures, assist in work flows, assess and report on progress to Supervisors.
* Ensure all caseworkers are effective and efficient in the utilisation of related systems and processes within the unit, reporting findings to Caseworker – Warwickshire Road Safety Unit Supervisors.
* Due to being part of the evidential trail, attend Court as required to give evidence of processes and tasks.
* To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Person specification:
Knowledge:
* A thorough understanding of the operating systems and processes within the WRSU
* A – C grade GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths
* An interest/knowledge of road safety issues/casualty reduction
Experience:
* Caseworker role within the WRSU (or equivalent)
* Coordinating work as part of a team
* Ability to process information accurately and efficiently
* Working in a customer service environment
Key Skills:
* Ability to work to strict deadlines, managing a workload whilst balancing competing demands
* Ability to problem solve
* Effective Communication skills
* Competent in the use of IT, including Microsoft packages or equivalent
