Shift Manager
4 on 4 off Days (05:30am – 18:00pm)

Our Preston site is growing! We are on the look out for a Shift Manager to become an integral part of our team! This is a high pressure role due to the FMCG high demand environment and responsibility required of the Shift Manager, but very rewarding!
Main duties include (but not limited to):
1. Manage the efficient operation of the shift
2. Ensure that the target productivity level is achieved daily through the effective management of staffing levels and skills on the appropriate lines
3. Ensure that lost production time is kept to a minimum and to minimise the waste of raw materials, packaging and consumables
4. Deliver on key performance indicators
5. Ensure that the management operations systems for the area are accurately managed and maintained to enable responsive, fact based management of the operation
6. Challenge and engage with people in own team and cross functionally
7. Challenge current processes and practices, with a view to improve
8. Objectively assess the team’s performance and develop improvement plans
9. Ensure that Department Supervisors are accountable for their area of responsibility
10. Ensure clarity of role for team members, including assigning of tasks and providing feedback
11. Effective labour planning to limit reliance on overtime working within the department
12. Collect data analysis to identify trends and opportunities
13. Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your area
14. Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
15. Liaise with colleagues in other departments to ensure the throughput of all products in a timely and efficient manner
16. Ensure that all staff have been given the appropriate level of training necessary to carry out their work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines
17. Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
18. Effectively manage energy and waste within the department
You will have:
19. Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (food related)
20. Proven track record of managing teams
21. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
22. Management of quality systems
23. Able to motivate self and others
