Spris Talocher School is recruiting for a full-time Senior Administrator to join our dedicated and talented education administration team. Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, some also have an ASC diagnosis. We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming, and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their additional learning needs.
The Role
As Senior Administrator, your role will be to ensure that the administrative operations within the school run smoothly. This includes line management of the current administration and catering teams. You will manage the business administration functions of the school, including payroll, finance, HR, H&S, transport, and fleet coordination, with support from the Head teacher and Regional Business Manager. This is a fast-paced and demanding role, but also an opportunity to flourish in your career and make a positive impact on those who need it most.
Main Duties
1. Line manage the administration and catering teams to ensure high standards and timely delivery of services.
2. Ensure effective operation of administrative processes and procedures, prioritizing enquiries and issues appropriately.
3. Supervise, coach, and support less experienced administrative staff.
4. Develop and maintain administrative systems, including record keeping and filing.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as site staff, Finance, HR, and Recruitment teams.
6. Support recruitment processes, including pre-employment checks and ensuring legal compliance.
7. Maintain confidentiality and security of personal and employment records in accordance with policies and legislation.
8. Oversee financial administration, including invoices, petty cash, transaction checks, and reconciliations.
9. Process local payroll accurately and timely.
10. Support the Regional Business Manager with daily administrative queries.
Candidate Requirements
1. Experience leading administrative teams and managing specific processes with support as needed.
2. Ability to work collaboratively to ensure effective administration within the school.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
4. Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
5. Proven experience in line management working with children and young people.
6. Experience overseeing payroll and HR functions.
7. Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing needs.
8. A positive 'can do' attitude.
9. Knowledge of H&S practices and processes.
