VeloMini – Quality Engineer
Location: Redhill, England, United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities
* Provide general support to the QA department in all quality-related matters
* Assist with third‑party surveillance and customer audits, including managing corrective actions
* Manage the internal audit programme, perform audits, and oversee resulting corrective actions
* Maintain the Quality Management System, including inspection and test data records
* Support the Quality Director and Manager in resolving customer complaints
* Develop Quality Plans to ensure compliance with customer contract requirements from manufacture through service life
* Lead calibration processes and manage calibrated items and tooling
* Investigate quality issues and failures, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Guide the Material Review Board and manage disposition of rejected parts and scrap processing
* Monitor and analyse quality data, track KPIs, and lead improvement initiatives
* Represent Quality in Change Control Board, Engineering Change Orders, and New Product Introduction processes
* Review and approve Deviations, ECOs, and customer Variation From Baseline (VFB) requirements
* Ensure test processes and records reflect engineering changes
* Develop and maintain quality test procedures, inspection plans, and control documentation
* Collaborate with Supplier Quality to review and approve first article inspection reports
* Perform product verification including Goods Inwards Inspection and RTT verification
* Approve quality documentation including Tube Acceptance Reports, Certificates of Conformity, and Service Export Certificates
* Lead Customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)

* Report any quality issues to management to ensure corrective actions are implemented
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, or Electronics‑related discipline preferred
* Certified Quality Auditor
Attributes
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills
* Experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred) and proficiency in Office365
* Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
* Ability to read technical drawings; knowledge of GD&T is an advantage
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and control systems
Required Experience
* 35 years in a Quality Assurance role, ideally in a low‑volume, high‑cost electromechanical environment
* ISO9001 QMS implementation and maintenance
* Use of mechanical measuring and inspection equipment (CMM or FARO arm experience advantageous)
* Calibration and documentation control systems
* Development and application of test procedures and verification records
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, SPC, Minitab, 5S, and Structured Problem Solving techniques
* Involvement in New Product Introduction, engineering change control, and deviation management
