Estates & Facilities are the stewards of King's extensive property portfolio that enables innovative teaching and pioneering research across five campuses in central London. Made up of over 1,000 talented staff with a wide variety of roles servicing our campuses and community; together we ensure that students and staff have the estate, space, and services that enhance their academic experience while preserving and future proofing our iconic estate as King's approaches it's bicentenary.

The Estates & Facilities (E&F) Portfolio Management Office (PMO) was created to oversee the physical strategy of the Estate both in terms of buildings and capital projects and support the Directorate of Estates & Facilities and University Executive strategic direction. With a strong focus being the gatekeepers on program management, transformation, space utilisation and reporting the PMO will support the leadership team by working across the directorate to provide Estates strategy documents linking into master planning and campus futures and well as report on in train projects, providing data insight and setting out the plans to achieve our key objectives.

About the role:

PMO Strategy Project Manager will support the Senior Director of Portfolio Management in delivering key projects across the directorate working closely with the Director of Space and Workplace Transformation and will be responsible for the collecting stakeholder and client requirements in respect to transformational projects instigated across the PMO remit. This includes responsibility for the management of these projects and also assisting other senior members of the PMO team and across Estates & Facilities to give program advice and scrutiny across the physical and occupational transformation of the estate. In addition, the PMO Strategy Project Manager will lead stakeholder engagement by collating information and working with the team to put forward solutions planning and delivering programs while working collaboratively across the University to deliver and implement change.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed term contract until 11 June 2027.

Essential Criteria

Strong skills in project planning, execution, and monitoring within a structured governance framework.
Strong sense of accountability for delivering projects successfully, navigating ambiguity, and ensuring outcomes through flexibility, innovation, and problem-solving.
Proven ability to engage, influence, and work effectively with senior leaders, teams, and external partners to ensure project alignment with organisational priorities.
Cultivates a culture of cross-functional collaboration, working seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across diverse areas of the organisation.
Strong ability to communicate project objectives, progress, and risks to diverse stakeholders, ensuring clarity and buy-in for project success.
Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to design future state capabilities, services, roles, and processes.
Being able to have difficult conversations with a view to resolving issues.

Desirable criteria

Project Management qualification (i.e. Prince2, AMP PMQ, AgilePM)
Demonstrate ability to deliver projects using best practice project management methodologies.
Experience managing projects within a transformation or strategic change environment.
