Role overview:
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy, and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager.
We are looking for a manager with experience in maintaining and developing standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times, including opening and closing the site as required by operational hours.
* Expect to work early mornings, late weekdays, and weekends.
* Ensure all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks, report and follow up on all defects to ensure the building and equipment are safe to use.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
* Ensure the entire gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness, including outside of contracted cleaning hours.
* Ensure in-house cleaners (General Assistants) maintain high cleaning standards.
* Adhere to uniform standards for all team members and yourself.
* Deliver outstanding member service at all times.
* Create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy their work.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects, or meetings as required.
* Represent JD Gyms as an ambassador at all times.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in a management position within the leisure industry is preferred.
* Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Experience in driving sales, coordinating local marketing, and managing a successful team.
* Ideally, experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar role.
