About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Baler Operative to join our team on a 12-hour shift pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to support our business growth, with competitive rates based on experience.
As a Baler Operative, you will operate and maintain channel press balers used to compress recyclable materials to specifications. Your role supports our mission of efficient recycling and environmental responsibility.
Key accountabilities:
* Operate and monitor baler equipment to produce quality bales.
* Perform routine maintenance and cleaning; report issues as needed.
* Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
* Follow all Health & Safety procedures and report incidents.
* Ensure bales meet quality standards.
Experience and Skills:
* Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, proactive.
* English literacy – Level 1 or equivalent.
* Good communication skills and team effectiveness.
* Experience with channel press balers or similar machinery (advantageous).
* Engineering knowledge (desirable).
* Background in agriculture or similar environments (desirable).
* Willingness to learn and upskill.
* Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
* Comfortable working at height.
* Mobile Plant Licences – Forklift, Telehandler, or Loading Shovel (desirable).
