Overview
We are looking for a Band 7 CAMHS Clinician to work in our Wandsworth Single Point of Access (SPA) triage and assessment service. The role is ideal for an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated CAMHS Clinician (Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Social Worker, Psychotherapist, family therapist) who is registered with a professional body and has significant experience working with children and young people in a community CAMHS setting. Responsibilities
* Process and triage referrals, arrange triage calls and provide screening mental health assessments for children and young people and their parents/carers.
* Triage referrals, offer mental health assessments and liaise with multi‑agency colleagues to ensure appropriate referral pathways.
* Support neuro‑developmental screening and assessment of children and young people presenting with concerns such as Autism Spectrum Conditions and ADHD.
* Evaluate and decide on signposting or delivery of intervention options, taking into account theoretical, therapeutic and complex developmental factors.
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients managed under psychologically based standard care plans.
* Provide specialist mental health advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals to directly support the care of young children and their parents/carers.
* Contribute to, or use evidence‑based, integrated working tools and processes to ensure young people and their parents/carers receive holistic and coordinated services.
* Provide supervision, consultations and support to qualified staff, trainees, interns and assistant psychologists within the service.
* Maintain accurate and accessible health‑care records in accordance with Trust policy and Information Governance requirements.
* Demonstrate high‑level written and verbal communication skills with all agencies.
* Undertake risk assessment and risk management for relevant individual clients and offer advice on psychological aspects of risk to other professions and public protection agencies.
* Communicate sensitively and skillfully information concerning assessment, formulation and treatment plans, and attend or organize professional network meetings as appropriate.
Qualifications
* Registered mental health nurse, HCPC registered clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist, psychotherapist, social worker with mental health experience, or family therapist.
* Significant experience working with children and young people in a community CAMHS setting.
* Experience providing high‑quality mental health assessments and familiarity with CYP IAPT methodology is desirable.
