The Speech and Language Therapy Team in Specialist Children's Services is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist.
This post is a bank role. The successful applicant will be able to do a variety of roles within Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
The post holder will benefit from close working relationships within the Speech and Language Therapy team as well as multi-disciplinary relationships as part of a wider integrated Specialist Children's Service.
There will be a requirement to have access to own transport.
Main duties of the job
1. To independently manage and provide a highly specialist SLT service for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs within HDFT's footprint. The children are aged 0 to 19 years and attend special schools as well as mainstream schools and nurseries in the area.
2. To provide consultancy / advisory service to SaLT therapy staff within Specialist Children’s Services.
3. To provide highly specialist training to other professionals relating to communication.
4. To allocate clients, design therapy programmes and provide clinical support and supervision to Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Practitioners and SaLT’s.
5. To establish and maintain the quality of the paediatric SLT service through working towards best practice and developing clinical governance alongside the Principal SLT.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential criteria
* Speech and Language Therapy Degree [or equivalent]
* HCPC registration
* Driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable criteria
* A broad clinical experience within specified client groups - Management of children with SLCN
* Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist
* System One
