My client is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancy firms with a UK Environment Practice of approximately 600 people providing world class consultancy and advisory services.
Your new role
My client is looking for an individual with an excellent track record and practical experience of delivering and project managing EIA projects to join the team. Their current projects include sustainable energy projects (solar, wind energy and hydro-electric schemes) as well as novel fuel production and energy storage projects, major motorway junction improvements and other highways schemes, nationally significant rail projects, master planning at MoD sites, infrastructure and pipeline projects for waterpanies, including a large reservoir proposal, and coastal defence projects for the Environment Agency.
This is an excellent development opportunity for an experienced candidate looking to progress their career to the next level in a fast paced and exciting industry. You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impacts Assessments and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor others in the team.
Responsibilities
1. Leading on the coordination and delivery of environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams including EIA, options appraisals and environmental assessments;
2. Project managing teams of environmental professionals;
3. Responsibility for programme andmercial management aspects of projects including budget control;
4. Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental oues;
5. Able to manage clients’ needs in a confident, professional manner;
6. Lead on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team;
7. Undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute.
8. Mentoring and assisting with staff development.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject;
10. Experience working on the delivery of EIAs for major infrastructure projects;
11. Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams;
12. Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills and able to review the work of others to ensure quality;
13. Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure;
14. Good interpersonal skills and an ability tomunicate issues and ideas effectively;
15. Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges, including working from other locations.
16. Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm andmitment to delivering sustainable oues.
