The Opportunity Having built a thriving upskilling apprenticeship business, we are now doubling down on our AI strategy with the launch of a groundbreaking AI Adoption Platform. This new venture operates as a ‘startup’ within the business, leveraging Multiverses established customer base, intellectual property, and experienced team. Our MVP has already demonstrated 7x adoption results in initial pilots by delivering personalized, role- and tool-specific AI use cases and upskilling at scale, enhanced by social features and measurable ROI. We are building a dedicated team to rapidly develop and scale this platform, and were looking for pioneering individuals to drive its market success from the ground up. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader and a force multiplier, tackling our most complex and ambiguous challenges. You will move beyond feature development to architecting the core systems and setting the technical strategy that will enable us to scale. You’ll be working closely together with our AI Adoption Team to build new features from scratch, quickly iterating to improve them as we get customer feedback and continue to evolve our offer. What Youll Do • Architect & Build Foundational Systems: Design, build, and operate the core architecture of our new AI Adoption Platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and extensible for future innovation. • Drive Technical Strategy: Partner with engineering and product leadership to define the long-term technical roadmap, making critical decisions that will shape the platform for years to come. • Solve Ambiguous, High-Impact Problems: Take the lead on our most complex technical challenges, navigating ambiguity to break down large-scale problems into clear, actionable plans for the team. • Elevate the Engineering Bar: Act as a technical mentor and role model for other engineers. You will elevate the teams capabilities through code reviews, design discussions, and by championing best practices. • Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives: Drive technical alignment and influence outcomes across engineering, product, and design teams, ensuring we build cohesive and powerful solutions. • Champion Innovation & Pragmatism: Explore, prototype, and advocate for new technologies (including AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Gemini) while balancing speed of delivery with long-term sustainability. About you • Proven Technical Leadership: A track record of architecting, building, and operating complex, scalable systems from an early stage. Your experience goes beyond a single team to influencing broader technical domains. • Expertise in Your Craft: Deep knowledge and proficiency across our stack (we use Python, TypeScript, React, Elixir, AWS) and the ability to choose the right tool for the job. • A "0-to-1" Mindset: You are energized by the ambiguity of new product development and have proven experience thriving in an environment with open-ended briefs. • Strategic & Collaborative Partnership: You work effectively with peers, stakeholders, and leadership to make critical decisions and drive projects forward. • Mentorship as a Multiplier: Experience formally or informally mentoring other senior engineers and a passion for helping others succeed and grow their skills. • Pragmatic Problem-Solving: An adaptable and curious approach, with the ability to balance technical excellence with the practical needs of a fast-moving business. • If this role excites you but your experience doesnt perfectly align with every point, we’d still love to hear from you.
