Team Leader – Household Support and Advice – Homelessness & Housing Access
Multiple Locations across City

Salary: £39,129 - £46,023
Hours: 36 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Household Support Team Leader to join the Household Support and Advice service area. Contributing to the Council's prevention and early intervention approaches to addressing poverty and homelessness, antisocial behaviour and community safety, you will be part of a wider service area seeking to develop, deliver and improve integrated services to individuals and households through leading a team of Household Support Workers.

A service with a broad and varied remit, our Household Support team takes an innovative and unique approach to responding to antisocial behaviour and community safety as well as wider societal issues such as poverty and maximising household income, access to education and community support utilising a 'No Wrong Door' approach.

At its heart, our Household Support team is a preventative and early intervention service which seeks to address the root causes of antisocial behaviour and housing needs by offering a range of holistic supports, including Housing Support, Family Support and Mediation.

You will support a team of Household Support Workers who work closely with individuals, families, groups, communities and partners to promote a restorative approach to neighbour disputes, social inclusion and community involvement.

You will be a multi-tasker, have good organisational skills, be experienced in managing change, and someone who can communicate with a broad range of individuals and groups.

You will have an approach to your work that both supports and challenges staff to empower and enable them to reach their potential.

This post requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Housing Support Supervisor. You will be qualified to SVQ level 4 (SCQF 8) in a relevant field or equivalent or be willing to work towards gaining the relevant qualification to enable SSSC registration. You will have some knowledge of the relevant National Care Standards or of the Scottish Antisocial Behaviour legalisation and be willing to gain the relevant knowledge and understanding. We value continuous professional develop so a commitment to your on-going learning and development is expected.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
