As a Catering Retail Assistant, you will provide excellent customer service to staff, patients, and visitors, while assisting in the preparation and serving of food and beverages. In return you be working with an experienced team working with fresh local ingredients and the best equipment.

Main duties of the job
1. Operating POS tills and handling cash transactions
2. Assisting Customers in finding products and answering queries
3. Stocking and replenishing shelves and displays
4. Keeping the retail area clean and tidy
5. Ensuring that stock levels are maintained
6. Assisting with stock takes and inventory management
7. Following safety regulations and standards
8. Handling customer complaints and resolving them
9. Collaborating with team members to maintain a smooth operation
10. Promoting and upselling products in line with NHS Guidelines
11. Participating in meetings and sharing ideas with the team

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
16. Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and approachable manner
17. Take orders and accurately input into POS system
18. Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety guidelines
19. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including adhering to all infection control measures
20. Keep track of inventory and report any shortages or expired items to management
21. Handle cash, credit card and mobile payments and reconcile the cash register at the end of each shift
22. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient cafe operations as a team
23. Maintain an excellent level of customer service, ensuring to deal with customer complaints and resolving any issue where necessary
24. Adhere to the NHS policies and procedures, including NHS safety regulations and operational standards
25. Perform any other duties as assigned by management

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
