Our B6 Plain Film Radiographer will be in a supervisory role, coordinating X-ray workload and team members. They will support the X-Ray Lead Radiographer through delegated roles and tasks. They will carry out X-ray examinations within the agreed scope of practice for the role, striving to produce images of exemplary diagnostic quality and support team members to achieve the same.
They will work as part of the X-Ray and wider Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high-quality, safe, and patient-focused service.
They will represent the Plain Film and wider Radiology team and TSDFT professionally and appropriately, contributing to safe working practices and ensuring compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.
Provide supervisory support to the X-Ray team, coordinating daily workload in the main X-ray department.
Support the XR Superintendent Radiographer.
Provide high-quality diagnostic X-ray imaging within the required scope of practice at TSDFT. The scope may extend to supporting more complex procedures with appropriate training.
Work within all mandated regulatory guidelines and comply with Trust and departmental policies, protocols, and guidelines, ensuring high-quality and safe working practices.
Provide the highest quality of care, treating all patients equally.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient use of complex technical equipment.
Manage workload in the scan room/area you are responsible for.
Work as part of the wider TSDFT team, supporting patient pathways to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Supervise and advise trainees and students.
Participate in the 24/7 service provision, which may involve working without on-site senior radiographic supervision.
You are responsible for maintaining your registration.
The X-Ray team is led by a Superintendent Radiographer, supported by two Band 6 Radiographers (including this role), and a team of 26 X-Ray Radiographers.
