As a Chef de Partie in our Partnership Hotel, you'll join a talented kitchen brigade dedicated to providing a first-class experience for Partners and guests. You will be a key player in producing and delivering the hotel's culinary offerings, adding value to the efficient and profitable running of the kitchen to achieve personal, team, and hotel goals.
This role is an ideal development opportunity. While working under the Head and Sous Chef, you will also take on responsibility for the kitchen in their absence.
In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £4.00 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Contract type - This contract is a permanent contract.
Working pattern/flexible working - This is an on-site role at our Bala Lake hotel, Bala, Gwynedd The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings, to support the operational needs of the business.

Location - Bala, Gwynedd 
Working in a kitchen environment is fast-paced and can feel pressurised. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
 * Maintaining the sales, reputation, and profit of the kitchen as agreed by the Head Chef.
 * Demonstrating your passion for food to invent, produce, and present quality dishes.
 * Assisting the Head Chef & Sous Chef to plan, produce, and deliver the hotel food offer and agreed food presentation standards.
 * Controlling stock and minimising wastage.
 * Providing guidance and development opportunities to Commis Chefs and the wider kitchen team, using your knowledge to train them (including in fishmongery and butchery).
 * Meeting all legislative requirements for the catering environment (including allergens) and adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
 * Conducting daily compliance checks (e.g., fridge temperatures, cleaning schedules) and ensuring all food safety policies are followed.
 * Being a brand ambassador who provides a consistently outstanding customer experience.
 * Acting in accordance with the Partnership’s purpose and democratic principles.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need
 * Relevant professional chef qualifications: City & Guilds diplomas in professional cookery, BTEC HNC in professional cookery or equivalent.
 * Experience working in a professional kitchen.
 * Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality results.
 * Compliance of all food safety policies, procedures, and practices.
 * Great attention to detail.
 * Excellent communication skills to instruct and deliver feedback to the Kitchen and Front of House teams.
 * Leadership skills to foster mutual trust and respect within the team.
 * Excellent planning and organisational skills to lead the team to deliver a timely service operation.
 * A quick and confident decision-maker to efficiently solve problems.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
 * Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
 * City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent.
 * Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
