An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Trial Research Nurse to join the Cancer Research Delivery Group (CRDG) and Public-Patient Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) team at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in a 12-month maternity cover post.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with high attention to detail who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment. The candidate should have experience in haematology/oncology nursing; being chemotherapy trained and competent is desirable. Good IT and communication skills are essential. Previous experience in clinical trials and PPIE would be advantageous.
The Clinical Trials Research Nurse will work as an independent practitioner within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves coordinating and managing all aspects of a clinical research portfolio, including in-house, national, and international trials related to anti-cancer treatment or palliative care, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, or supportive care.
The post holder will:
1. Coordinate clinical trials according to GCP regulatory requirements.
2. Collaborate with key personnel to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
3. Work with research nurses and provide specialised nursing interventions.
4. Coordinate, devise, and deliver PPIE activities for the CECM.
5. Accurately and promptly complete trial data and documentation.
6. Support Clinical Trial Practitioners and Assistants, including delegated responsibilities.
