Full-Time Split Role: 3 Days Academy, 2 Days Venue Coordination 37.5 Hours per Week Location: Walsall Football Club Walsall Football Club are looking for an Academy Secretary and Venue Coordinator. This is a unique dual-position offering variety and impact across two key areas of the Club: Academy Secretary (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) You’ll be the backbone of our Academy operations, ensuring smooth coordination of fixtures, registrations, compliance, matchday logistics, and player administration. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts will help keep the Academy running efficiently and professionally. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate fixtures and matchday logistics for youth teams Manage player and trialist registrations, contracts, and compliance Organise match officials, training kits, medical screenings, and audits Maintain databases, prepare paperwork, newsletters, and meeting minutes Support Academy colleagues with administrative needs and uphold safeguarding standards Venue Coordinator (Wednesday, Friday) In your role as Venue Coordinator, you’ll act as the face of our venue operations; handling event bookings, liaising with internal teams, managing client queries and supporting commercial events. Your excellent customer service skills will ensure a warm and professional welcome. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional front-of-house service to visitors and clients Manage venue bookings and event logistics including catering and AV Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth event delivery Handle booking systems, invoicing support, and reception duties Attend Commercial meetings and contribute to event planning About The Candidate Essential: Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role Strong interpersonal and communication skills Highly organised, reliable, and proactive Excellent attention to detail Comfortable using booking systems and basic finance/invoicing platforms Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and maintaining high professional standards Desirable: Knowledge of EFL Youth Development rules and documentation Experience working in a football or wider sports environment Understanding of CRM systems Current FA Safeguarding Children Certificate (or willingness to complete) About The Club About Walsall Football Club: Walsall Football Club, founded in 1888, is a place full of passion and pride, with a rich history having had exciting moments in both the lower divisions and the second tier of English football.
