Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work directly with members of the public who are homeless, threatened with homelessness or need housing advice. Responsibilities include providing housing advice and support to prevent homelessness, supporting individuals through a housing pathway, negotiating with landlords to prevent evictions, assisting tenants in defending against possession proceedings, and offering advice on court processes. The candidate must deliver excellent customer service and be passionate about preventing homelessness.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 GCSE including Maths and English (Bands 4-9 or equivalent) and A levels or equivalent.
* Subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
* Must provide a suitable vehicle and be available for out-of-hours function on a rota basis.
* Minimum one year of direct experience in a customer-focused role working with homeless or at-risk households.
* Sound knowledge of housing, accommodation options, welfare benefits, safeguarding, partnership working and court processes; ability to learn new legislation quickly.
