Job Title : Health, Safety and Environment Advisor (North) Location: AG Barr Cumbernauld (with travel to other company sites) Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent Reporting: a member of the wider HS&E Team supporting the Head of HS&E and directly reporting in to the HS&E Business Partner (North) Are you passionate about fostering a culture of safety and excellence? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HS&E Advisor to join our team. Based primarily at our Cumbernauld site, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our operational teams in ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company policy, and best practices in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities. This isn't just a "box-ticking" exercise; you will be a visible leader, driving real change and ensuring every member of our team goes home safe every day. The Impact You Will Make As our HS&E Advisor, your responsibilities will include but not limited to Risk Management: Supporting assessments on plant, machinery, and operational procedures to identify all associated risks. Safety Culture: Facilitating the promotion of a positive health, safety, and environmental culture within the site and wider company. Expert Guidance: Advising internal stakeholders on the interpretation and implementation of company policies, standards, and statutory provisions. Continuous Improvement: Proactively conducting HS&E related audits and supporting workplace inspections, recommending and supporting the implementation of both improvement opportunities and remedial actions. Incident Investigation: Assisting operational teams with incident investigations to identify immediate and root causes and ensure corrective and preventative actions are in place. Training & Development: Preparing and delivering HS&E alerts, briefings, and training sessions as appropriate. Compliance: Conducting assessments in key safety areas such as MHE operations, DSEAR, Noise, COSHH, PUWER, and Fire Safety to ensure legal compliance. What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will need: Industry Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environmental, ideally gained within a manufacturing and logistics/distribution environment. Legislative Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation. Key Qualifications: A minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Qualification or with a clear commitment to attaining an environmental qualification. Hold at least Technical membership of IOSH including demonstrable continuous professional development (cpd). Hold any other relevant and or specialist qualifications relating to HS&E. Interpersonal Excellence: Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues at all levels. Technical Literacy: Being PC and systems literate is essential, including supporting colleagues in the use of reporting systems like our HSMS INTELEX.
