An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Finance department, working in Income Management and the Capital Projects Team within the Corporate and Capital Finance service area.
This is a combined role, with your time split equally between both areas.
The Role
Robust financial control is essential for enabling the Council to deliver high-quality services to local communities. We are seeking a Income Management System Administrator / Senior Finance Officer to provide support and advice in two key service areas.
Income Management System Support
The main purpose is to support, develop, and maintain the Council’s Income Management modules, Civica ICON. This includes understanding the system’s capabilities and business needs, providing training and guidance to team members and end users, and offering a customer-focused help desk support to internal services, schools, suppliers, and customers.
Working within the Corporate Finance Team, reporting to the Income Management Supervisor, you will be part of a small team responsible for producing an accurate cash book that feeds into the financial ledger and Statement of Accounts. Excellent communication skills are required for liaising with finance and non-finance stakeholders, including external contacts.
Senior Finance Officer
You will support the Capital and Projects finance team, managing the financial aspects of Nuplace Limited, the Council’s Housing Investment Company with over 600 properties. Responsibilities include maintaining financial controls and producing management information for senior management and shareholders. Additionally, you'll support the capital projects team by preparing timely reports, assisting with year-end processes, and using the Council’s Financial Accounting System to report to diverse stakeholders.
Key Requirements
Five GCSEs at grades A-C/9-4, including Maths and English, and full membership of AAT or an HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.

We support a hybrid working model, combining office and home working, based at Darby House near Telford Town Centre, with good transport links.
