Job Title: Data Specialist Authoritative Data Source Location: Wokingham (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week) Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension) Day Rate: £470 (Inside IR35) About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist (Authoritative Data Source) to join a growing data governance and provenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and maintaining authoritative data sources to ensure accuracy, credibility, and compliance with governance standards. This is a hands-on role working across technical and business teams to drive consistency, transparency, and reliability of enterprise data. Key Responsibilities Identify and discover authoritative data sources (internal and external). Assess and evaluate data sources in collaboration with data architects, data owners, SMEs, and stakeholders. Develop and enforce governance policies and standards for authoritative data sources. Document data flows, provenance, and metadata to support transparency, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Provide training and guidance to colleagues and data consumers on interpreting and using authoritative data assets. About You You will bring strong expertise in data sourcing, governance, and modelling, along with the ability to engage and influence across technical and business teams. Essential experience includes: 5 years hands-on experience in data sourcing, data flows, or lineage. Experience in data modelling (to support entity-driven authoritative data sources). Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and practices. Proven stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative, cross-functional teams. Desirable skills: Certifications such as DAMA CDMP. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field. Experience with data management tools and technologies.
