Overview
Darlington Children’s Services are seeking enthusiastic, driven and motivated individuals to join our team and contribute to our vision of relational practice, building local capacity, relationships, skills and innovation. The role supports and enables relational practice, with a focus on delivering high-quality safeguarding services for children and families.
Responsibilities
* Be instrumental in creating an environment that supports and enables relational practice, building local capacity, relationship and skills and innovation.
* Contribute to reducing the need for children and young people to enter the looked-after system by supporting safe and appropriate practice.
* Engage with regular training, reflective supervision and support from senior managers to develop professional practice.
* Manage caseload effectively in a compact borough, ensuring time with children and families is maximised.
* Work within a culture of restorative and relational working across the Borough.
Qualifications
* Enthusiastic and dynamic Social Worker, either experienced or newly qualified, with passion and commitment to achieving the best for vulnerable families.
* Experience in Children's Statutory Safeguarding Services, either as a Social Worker or Social Work student.
Progression and Rewards
* Appointment and/or progression to Band 10/11 subject to meeting DBC progression criteria.
* This post is eligible for a Social Worker Recruitment and Retention payment paid annually for up to 3 years to Social Workers with a minimum of one year post- qualifying experience who have completed ASYE (if applicable) – currently £2,500 per annum (pro-rata for part time).

Other Information
The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and Children’s Barred List check and re-checking in line with Council policy.
