We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Telford and Wrekin t o assist with the appointment of a Personal Adviser on a 1.5 -months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £16.35 - £21 .25 per hour Summary: As a Personal Adviser, you will hold statutory responsibility for a caseload of care-experienced young people. You will function as their primary case manager, guiding them through the complexities of leaving care. From helping them secure housing and education to teaching essential life skills—like budgeting or cooking—you are the "bridge" between state care and a successful, independent life. Responsibilities: Undertake the statutory role of Personal Adviser for individuals aged 16–25, ensuring all legislative requirements under the Children (Leaving Care) Act are met. Coordinate and implement "Pathway Plans," regularly reviewing goals related to health, education, and housing. Act as a key professional for "Former Relevant" care leavers, and provide advice and assistance to "Relevant" or "Qualifying" young people as required. Offer hands-on support with budgeting, applying for benefits, accessing further education/employment, and maintaining a household. Qualifications: A relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field is preferred. Essentials: Proven experience working with vulnerable young people, particularly those in a social care or community setting. Knowledge of the practical challenges young people face when moving into their first home. Must have a full UK driving license and access to your own reliable vehicle. Must have (or be willing to obtain) Business Insurance for your vehicle. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
