Do you have a strong surveying background with a proven track record of successfully achieving business objectives combined with excellent management and leadership skills? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join North Lanarkshire Properties LLP, one of North Lanarkshire Council's Arm's Length External Organisations (ALEO), in this key leadership role.
North Lanarkshire Properties manages a large varied portfolio of 1400 properties throughout North Lanarkshire producing a rent roll of approximately £6.5 million. Our varied portfolio includes shops, office accommodation, industrial units, business centres and yards. Working in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council in the role of one of the Council's Arms Length External Organisations, you will ensure the company harnesses our business plans to reflect and enhance the ambitious programme of growth, urban and town centre regeneration and development and the Council's ambitious drive for investment in the area. This is a particularly exciting time to be leading this commercial property company. With a proven track record of success in a similar field you will possess both the technical and market knowledge skills along with leadership skills to effectively manage the surveying and technical teams, driving forward results to achieve the company's commercial objectives. You will contribute to the overall business plans and objectives for the company and lead the team, including ensuring resources are aligned, to deliver on these. You will require budget monitoring experience to effectively manage and monitor income and expenditure.
Working across the North Lanarkshire area, the remit of this role is wide and diverse and incredibly influential: you will lead, manage and oversee the resources required to ensure delivery of effective business strategies, ensuring commercial and customer focus is embedded in your team, ensuring resources are deployed and aligned to ensure the delivery of the organisations objectives and ensuring its ongoing profitability.
As the company's authority in surveying and technical matters, you will ensure that the Company provides a full range of property management services to North Lanarkshire Council meeting the required performance standards and within the company's commercial property holdings. Reporting to the Strategic Assets Manager, you will ensure through compliance with governance and legislation that the company's undertakings reflect best practice and that effective risk management protocols are in place. Liaising directly with the external market, external advisors and other senior stakeholders, you will collaborate with a wide range of parties both within and outwith North Lanarkshire.
An excellent communicator, you must have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and full membership of RICS. With strong leadership and motivational skills, you should have substantial relevant surveying experience and experience of managing and leading teams.
You will also have knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in the area and an understanding of variables out with the company's control including socio, economic, technical and political drivers and have the ability to adapt business plans to take account of such factors.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Full membership of RICS.
* Substantial relevant surveying experience.
* Experience managing and leading teams.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
* Understanding of socio-economic, technical and political drivers affecting the business.
Working Pattern
Monday - Thursday: 08:45am – 16:45pm
Friday: 08:45am – 16:15pm
