We’re seeking a motivated Junior Front‑End Developer to join our team. This entry‑level role is perfect for recent graduates, career changers, or self‑taught developers passionate about creating high‑quality, user‑friendly web experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product teams to build responsive and accessible web applications. This is not a remote role – we expect you to attend Head Office in a hybrid way in Greater Manchester.
The Team
The UX and Delivery team is a tight‑knit, agile group responsible for a wide range of digital touchpoints across the business. We work closely together to support long‑term digital delivery plans, CRO strategies, and daily BAU activities. While we collaborate regularly, each team member also works independently with strong communication skills and a shared commitment to design excellence.
About You
* Familiar with responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility.
* Basic understanding of Git (commits, branching) and familiarity with platforms like GitHub.
* Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
* Exposure to a modern framework such as React (preferred), Vue, or similar.
* Awareness of web fundamentals like accessibility and performance.
* Strong willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
* Good problem‑solving and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with TypeScript.
* Basic knowledge of APIs (REST) and how front‑ends consume data.
* Exposure to Node.js or full‑stack concepts.
* Familiarity with CSS frameworks or tools (e.g., Tailwind CSS).
* Understanding of testing basics (e.g., unit/UI testing).
* Core: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
* Framework: React.
* Styling: Tailwind CSS / modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid).
* Tools: Git, npm/yarn, Vite or similar build tools.
* Design: Figma.
* APIs: REST.
* A/B testing & experimentation tools (e.g., Monetate).
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain responsive web interfaces using modern front‑end technologies.
* Collaborate with designers and developers to implement new features.
* Translate UI/UX designs (e.g., from Figma) into clean, functional code.
* Learn and apply best practices in performance, accessibility, and SEO.
* Support the team in debugging, testing, and improving existing features.
* Contribute to component libraries and design systems.
* Stay updated on modern front‑end tools and trends.
